Cost Plus Description
The Travel Centers using this program are:
1. Quick Fuel - Cost plus 9 cents
2. Ambest - Cost plus 3.5 cents
3. TA - Cost plus 3 cents
With a cost plus program you are either going to have big savings or little to none. This is because cost plus is determined by the Travel Center's cost for the fuel. If their cost is substantially below the price they are selling it for, the price on the board, then your savings will be large. If their cost is nearly the price they are selling it for then your savings will be smaller. You will never pay more than the retail price. I have seen drivers save $25 on one fueling using a cost plus program. The amount you will save depends on the fuel market you are in. If the Travel Centers are able to mark the price of fuel up quite a bit then you will save quite a bit. If they can't mark it up much then you won't save much.
Example
The Travel Center's retail price for fuel is $1.57 their cost for fuel at that location is $1.37. At that location FactorLoads customers have a cost plus 9 cents discount. Here is how the discount would look.
$1.37 + 9 cents = $1.46 this is the price you will pay per gallon.
$1.57 - $1.46 = $0.11 this is how much you would save per gallon
